MOSCOW, Feb 28 (PRIME) -- Google has offered an amicable agreement to Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service, which found the U.S. company guilty of abusing its dominance on the local market of preinstalled application stores on Android devices in 2015, Larisa Vovkivskaya, deputy director of the service’s legal department, said on Tuesday.
“Google approached us with an option of signing an amicable agreement. The application was received yesterday. Terms of the agreement have not been discussed yet,” Vovkivskaya told reporters.
The antimonopoly service wants Google to fix violations, which include forcing smartphone manufacturers to preinstall Google Play in a tie-up with the company’s other applications.
The authority brought the company to administrative responsibility and imposed a 438 million ruble fine, which was challenged by Google.
The service and the company are involved in several court proceedings.
